Restorative Yoga is a great companion for our hectic modern life. It provides a space to gain peace and clarity. Restorative yoga helps stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, allowing the heart rate to slow, the blood pressure to regulate; believing to boost the immune system and accelerate the body's natural healing process.  As such, Restorative Yoga can be beneficial for students who are recovering from illness or injury, for those suffering from anxiety, insomnia, headaches or other stress-related conditions, and it is a great companion to a more active yoga practice.

Yoga Take-Out is based on the Hatha yoga system, which is all about balancing energies in the body. The class, suitable for beginners or intermediate students is made up of short, memorable and accessible 10 minute sequences that can be adapted to “take-out” and use at home, work or where-ever you might need; to help to de-stress, energise, focus or just to be kind to yourself.

Influenced by mindfulness practice and incorporating pranayama (breath work) you will be left feeling more grounded, rooted and connected to your body and breath.

This whole body, low impact conditioning class is designed to kick-start your weekend in style. With full support and guidance, you’ll be led through a series of sculpting and toning exercises inspired by the disciplines of yoga, Pilates and barre.

With a strong focus on boosting mental as well as physical wellbeing (led by Cat our Happiness Coach and Fitness Trainer) these 60 minute classes are designed to be fun, friendly and suitable for ALL fitness levels, set to an uplifting soundtrack to energise the body and mind.

After we wake up the muscles you’ll end with a long, slow, grounding stretch followed by a soothing cup of herbal tea, sending you off into your weekend blissed out and in love with life.

Vinyasa and Yoga Nidra

This class will be a 60 minute Vinyasa Flow followed by a 30 minute Yoga Nidra practice.

The Vinyasa practice will be an energetic flow, building strength and flexibility. Moving through a variation of physical asana practice before we make our way into a relaxing Yoga Nidra.

Yoga Nidra is a relaxation practice in which you arrive at a state in between wakefulness and sleeping. We will systematically go through various relaxation techniques to arrive at a deep state of calm, peace, and tranquility. Yoga Nidra is a great practice to reduce stress and anxiety.

Physio-led Yoga for People with Parkinson’s

£8 pay as you go

This yoga class is designed specifically for people living with Parkinson’s, and led by specialist neuro Physiotherapist and qualified yoga teacher, Kathryn Ayre.

Traditional yoga practices will be adapted as required to suit all abilities and levels of mobility, alongside evidence-based movements known to benefit people with Parkinson’s.

Classes will focus on expansion, finding freedom of movement, grounding and balance, as well as opening the chest, hips, and improving spinal mobility. You will be led through a flowing sequence of poses and movements sitting, standing, kneeling with support, and lying, finishing with a guided relaxation.

Open to all ages, abilities and levels of mobility. No prior knowledge of yoga or level of fitness/flexibility is required, and all equipment is provided. However, for safety, you will need to be able to get on and off the floor with minimal assistance.

Class size limited to 8 people to allow individual attention and guidance on the most beneficial versions of poses for each person.

Brave Move is wheelchair accessible. There is free on street parking around the studio, or a small car park near the Totterdown Tesco Express.

You are welcome to arrive up to 15 minutes before the class to relax and enjoy a cup of tea with other students in the studio, and often some will go out for lunch together afterwards.

Physio-led Accessible Yoga

Physio-led Accessible Yoga is Yoga for every body, taught by a neuro physiotherapist and yoga teacher, Kathryn. Traditional yoga practices will be adapted as required to suit a wide range of abilities and levels of mobility.

You will flow through sequences of seated, standing and floor yoga poses adapted to suit each individual, with meditation, breathing practice (pranayama) and guided relaxation (Yoga nidra).

This class is open to anyone living with a health condition which affects mobility and physical ability. Kathryn is particularly passionate about making Yoga accessible to people with neurological conditions, including multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and spinal cord injury, or any condition affecting the brain, spinal cord, or neuromuscular system.

Research has shown that Yoga can help with pain, fatigue and stress management, strength, flexibility and balance, and improve your sense of well-being. No prior knowledge of yoga or level of fitness/flexibility is required, and all equipment is provided. However, for safety, you will need to be able to get on and off the floor using a chair and minimal assistance.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa yoga is dynamic and flowing in style, focusing on the cultivation of breath with movement.

Each practice starts with a seated meditation and pranayama (breath work) to help settle the mind preparing for the physical practice. We then flow into sun salutations to create heat in the body, and thoughtfully weave in postures to encourage balance of both strength and flexibility.

Every practice culminates with a deeply relaxing guided savasana to restore and rejuvenate in body and mind.

Physio-led Accessible Yoga

Physio-led Accessible Yoga is Yoga for every body, taught by a neuro physiotherapist and yoga teacher, Kathryn. Traditional yoga practices will be adapted as required to suit a wide range of abilities and levels of mobility.

You will flow through sequences of seated, standing and floor yoga poses adapted to suit each individual, with meditation, breathing practice (pranayama) and guided relaxation (Yoga nidra).

This class is open to anyone living with a health condition which affects mobility and physical ability. Kathryn is particularly passionate about making Yoga accessible to people with neurological conditions, including multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and spinal cord injury, or any condition affecting the brain, spinal cord, or neuromuscular system.

Research has shown that Yoga can help with pain, fatigue and stress management, strength, flexibility and balance, and improve your sense of well-being. No prior knowledge of yoga or level of fitness/flexibility is required, and all equipment is provided. However, for safety, you will need to be able to get on and off the floor using a chair and minimal assistance.

Brave Move is wheelchair accessible. There is free on street parking around the studio, or a small car park near the Totterdown Tesco Express. You are welcome to arrive up to 15 minutes before the class to relax and enjoy a cup of tea with other students in the studio.

Class size limited to 10 people to allow individual attention.

Physio-led Yoga for People with Parkinson’s

This yoga class is designed specifically for people living with Parkinson’s, and led by specialist neuro Physiotherapist and qualified yoga teacher, Kathryn Ayre.

Traditional yoga practices will be adapted as required to suit all abilities and levels of mobility, alongside evidence-based movements known to benefit people with Parkinson’s.

Classes will focus on expansion, finding freedom of movement, grounding and balance, as well as opening the chest, hips, and improving spinal mobility. You will be led through a flowing sequence of poses and movements sitting, standing, kneeling with support, and lying, finishing with a guided relaxation.

Open to all ages, abilities and levels of mobility. No prior knowledge of yoga or level of fitness/flexibility is required, and all equipment is provided. However, for safety, you will need to be able to get on and off the floor with minimal assistance.

Class size limited to 8 people to allow individual attention and guidance on the most beneficial versions of poses for each person.

The Vinyasa practice will be an energetic flow, building strength and flexibility. Moving through a variation of physical asana practice before we make our way into a relaxing Yoga Nidra.

Yoga Nidra is a relaxation practice in which you arrive at a state in between wakefulness and sleeping. We will systematically go through various relaxation techniques to arrive at a deep state of calm, peace, and tranquility. Yoga Nidra is a great practice to reduce stress and anxiety.

Peaceful Post Natal

Our teacher Debs will guide you through a full body strength and tone practice that will ease your body gently towards a greater sense of strength, well-being and relaxation. We also have a tea station on hand if you need a little more chill than workout time!

Debs has worked in the Health and Well-being industry for more than 13 years, working with individuals with varying long term medical conditions, injuries and pre and post surgery.

Restorative Yoga is a great companion for our hectic modern life. It provides a space to gain peace and clarity. Restorative yoga helps stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, allowing the heart rate to slow, the blood pressure to regulate; believing to boost the immune system and accelerate the body's natural healing process.  As such, Restorative Yoga can be beneficial for students who are recovering from illness or injury, for those suffering from anxiety, insomnia, headaches or other stress-related conditions, and it is a great companion to a more active yoga practice.

Yin Yoga for Letting Go
